Baboons, self-owns and smut: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Facebook page is a hot mess

A year later, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is still learning a hard lesson about basic social media safety.

After failing last year to take the elementary step of tightening her privacy settings on Facebook, people are again tagging Greene in a variety of derogatory, misogynistic — and even pornographic — images that appear in the “tagged photos” section of her Facebook page.

A simple settings change by Greene’s campaign committee, which manages the page, could stop this trolling. Instead, Greene’s blue check-verified Facebook page, with its 476,000 followers, has become a veritable bulletin board of ridicule directed at the bombastic congresswoman.

Clown and baboon imagery are popular, as are Russian flags and a meme of the congresswoman shouting during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech. Sexually explicit drawings are also posted on Greene’s page for all to see, including a fake photo with the congresswoman’s head on a nearly nude body.

“Best practices would be that the campaign would want to block this type of behavior,” said Maggie Macdonald, assistant professor of political science at the University of Kentucky. “My take on her broader strategy — and I would put other politicians like Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert in this bucket on the more conservative side — that their goal is to get national media attention, to be talked about, to be on the news, to be interviewed, and so this is a strategy, one of many strategies to further those goals.”

Nick Dyer, Greene's deputy chief of staff, replied to a Raw Story inquiry by saying, "What are you talking about?" After being given links to Greene's tagged Facebook photos and a Business Insider story from a year ago, he declined to answer questions about Greene's social media practices while saying that Raw Story needed to ask Facebook why it allows those images on its platform.

Facebook and its parent company, Meta, did not immediately respond to Raw Story's request for comment.

Facebook's community standards list hate speech and adult nudity and sexual activity among its "objectionable content." Facebook's community standards additionally state that the company distinguishes between public figures and private individuals in terms of bullying and harassment "because we want to allow discussion, which often includes critical commentary of people who are featured in the news or who have a large public audience."

ALSO READ: Here's how much Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has lost investing in Trump’s Truth Social venture

"For public figures, we remove attacks that are severe as well as certain attacks where the public figure is directly tagged in the post or comment," the policy continues. As of publication time, the tagged photos remained on Greene's Facebook page.

Multiple photos among Greene's tagged photos on Facebook made fun of her antics during the State of the Union speech earlier this year. Greene, dressed in a white coat with a thick fur collar, cupped both hands around her mouth and yelled “Liar” during the speech.

One post juxtaposed a photo of Greene from the speech with a screaming baboon, white fur jutting out from the sides of its head.

“Who wore it better?” the post says.

Screen grab from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's Facebook

Another was a screen grab of a social media post with the picture of Greene and the words, “If you’ve ever seen monkeys in the zoo, you’ll recognize the face they make before they start flinging [dung].”

In a nod to pop culture, someone posted a photo of “The New MTG BARBIE” — a screaming doll with long eyelashes and furrowed eyebrows drawn on the image.

One person added a clown nose, MAGA hat and “Trump-Putin 2024” logo to Greene’s image on her social media post calling Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis — who’s prosecuting former President Donald Trump for election interference — a “commie” and “nothing more than a political hitman tasked with taking out Biden’s top political opponent.”

"I don't want to take it lightly that people are being hateful to her. It's not good," Macdonald said. "My assumption is that for her campaign, they've decided the cost-benefit is worth it."

Screen grab Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's Facebook

Other images added the Russian flag to Greene’s clothes or forehead in photos with people such as Sean Hannity of Fox News. Still, more accuse Greene of being a “domestic terrorist” and adulterer.

“In hindsight, crossing horse, demon and Nazi DNA was probably a bad idea,” reads a caption on one photo of Greene.

Elsewhere on Greene’s Facebook page, it’s business as usual, with Greene posting this week about an interview with Tucker Carlson and promoting her book “MTG.”

Members of Congress most often use Facebook to connect with their constituents — often supporters — rather than to gain new voters, said Macdonald, who was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at New York University’s Center for Social Media and Politics. Facebook briefly suspended Greene's Facebook account in 2022 after the social media platform accused her of spreading COVID-19 misinformation.

“The goal is probably not to bring any new people onto your side, but it's to keep the people who are already there and get them riled up and trigger their group mindset of ‘Yes, I'm with you. I'm against these other people who are attacking you,’” Macdonald said.

Greene was first elected to Congress in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022, winning by large margins both times. She is running again next year but has talked about serving in Trump’s cabinet if he wins the presidency. She has also talked about the possibility of being Trump’s vice president.

“In terms of why Rep. Greene and her communication staffers haven't changed the settings, my assumption is that they don't see it as a problem for her. If they did, they would change their behavior,” Macdonald said. “This is just a way to get attention and show to her supporters ‘I'm being attacked. I represent you,’ and just a way to kind of further her goals, which are unique to her as a politician.”

Erotic images vanish from Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Facebook page after Raw Story questions

Several sexually explicit images disappeared from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s campaign Facebook page following questions about them from Raw Story.

Asked by Raw Story if Greene’s staff or Facebook removed the images, Nick Dyer, Greene’s deputy chief of staff, said, “I suppose they did. Look at you! Journalism with some results!”

Facebook, and its parent company Meta, didn’t respond to continued requests for comment about the explicit images, which included depictions of sex acts and body parts.

RELATED ARTICLE: Baboons, self-owns and smut: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Facebook page is a hot mess

Raw Story reported early Wednesday that Greene, a Republican from Georgia, had failed to engage simple privacy settings that would have prevented people from posting lewd and uncomplimentary material directly to her Facebook page.

This led to posts mocking Greene as a clown, comparing her to a baboon and depicting her with Russian flags.

Greene’s office was first alerted to the problem last year. After removing some of the problematic images, others — some worse than before — have recently appeared.

Dyer reacted to Raw Story’s inquiry Tuesday by emailing, “What are you talking about?”

ALSO READ: Revealed: Marjorie Taylor Greene's post-divorce finances — from Trump to Disney

Dyer later suggested it was Facebook’s failure, not Greene’s, to police content such as pornography that goes against the social media giant’s policies.

Facebook's community standards list hate speech and adult nudity and sexual activity among its "objectionable content." The standards additionally state that the company distinguishes between public figures and private individuals in terms of bullying and harassment "because we want to allow discussion, which often includes critical commentary of people who are featured in the news or who have a large public audience."

"For public figures, we remove attacks that are severe as well as certain attacks where the public figure is directly tagged in the post or comment," the policy continues.

ALSO READ: Here's how much Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has lost investing in Trump’s Truth Social venture

Late Tuesday, Greene posted on Facebook about items for sale at her website, including $25 “Impeach Biden!” wrapping paper that depicts the president as the Grinch and $60 Christmas sweaters that say, “The Grinch Who Stole the Election — Impeach Biden.”

Several derogatory, misogynistic and sexually suggestive images still remained on Greene’s page Wednesday afternoon in the “tagged photos” section that’s available for anyone to see. Many other on-brand images remain on Greene’s page, too, such as those that show her in flattering poses or a message that she’s against aid to Israel so the U.S. can “focus on our own massively horrible problems."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Mad That Fellow Republicans Might Expel Her Friend George Santos

Rep. Taylor Greene and George Santos

The ongoing controversy surrounding New York Republican Rep. George Santos on Capitol Hill is approaching a critical juncture, as California Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia plans to introduce a privileged motion on Tuesday afternoon, necessitating a vote on Santos’ expulsion within two legislative days.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has voiced her frustration over the GOP’s handling of the Santos situation on social media Monday.

Greene, who has been seen sitting with Santos in Congress, aired her grievances on X (formerly Twitter), questioning her party’s leadership priorities.

“Let me get this straight,” she wrote. “The Republican majority controlled Congress has ousted a Republican Speaker and is now on the verge of expelling a not yet convicted Republican member, but we can’t even impeach Mayorkas or Biden or stop the weaponized DOJ against Trump and all their political enemies?”

    — (@)

The House Ethics Committee’s report issued before Thanksgiving, which found “substantial evidence” of Santos using campaign funds for personal expenses and exploiting his candidacy for personal financial gain, has only added to the mounting pressure for his expulsion.

Santos faces 23 federal charges related to fraud and campaign finance crimes.

Despite these allegations, Santos has remained defiant, refusing to resign and insisting on due process. Speaker Mike Johnson, the Louisiana congressman, acknowledged discussing the Ethics Committee’s report with Santos, telling The Hill on Monday, “I’ve spoken to Congressman Santos at some length over the holiday and talked with him about his options.”

Santos seems to anticipate a grim outcome, admitting in a Friday interview on X Spaces, “I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor. I’ve done the math over and over, and it doesn’t look really good.”

Throughout these developments, Greene has consistently defended Santos. The anti-LGBTQ+ lawmaker has attributed the attacks against Santos to his status as the first out gay Republican elected to Congress and advocated for giving him “grace” for admitting to and apologizing for his resume fabrications.

Santos plans to have a press conference on the steps of the Capitol on Thursday morning.

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has accused fellow GOP Rep. Richard McCormick, also from Georgia, of getting physically aggressive with her, CNN reported Tuesday.

McCormick has denied the accusation, saying the interaction was meant as a “friendly gesture.”

Greene, in a private conversation with House Speaker Mike Johnson, said complained that McCormick grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her after the two disagreed over a censure resolution targeting Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, according to CNN.

"McCormick voted against Greene’s censure resolution and then introduced his own, more narrow version – which prompted Greene to say to reporters at the time that McCormick had his 'ego bruised.' She also publicly bashed other Republicans who voted against her resolution," CNN reported.

“I understand why there would be a lot of raw emotions following the censure vote, given that her censure was tabled and mine passed,” McCormick said in a statement given to the news network.

"My intention was to encourage Rep. Greene by making a friendly gesture

“I said to her, ‘at least we can have an honest discussion,’ to which she said she did not appreciate that. For that, I immediately apologized and have not spoken to her since.”

Rep Crockett would find lots of support around here where the word "deplorable" is used as badge of honor for treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans. Which is ironic if not moronic because people who have turned traitors against the United States of America are in fact and indeed deplorable.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) used “deplorable” in a House hearing on Tuesday, prompting Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to request that it be stricken from the record. (Watch the video below.)

But the far-right lawmaker’s attempt was denied by the Republican chair and prompted some taunting by Crockett afterward.

“So the MAGAS think MTG is so amazing… right?” Crockett wrote on X. “To be clear, the senior member from Georgia was wrong! It’s a bad day when the Republican chair has to rule in my favor. LEARN the rules before trying to check me.”

During the House Oversight Committee meeting on transgender athletes, Crockett zeroed in on a witness from the right-wing think tank Heritage Foundation, Mediaite reported.

“The Heritage Foundation loves Texas,” Crockett, a Texan, said. “They always sending us some nonsense bills that somehow set this country on the wrong trajectory. They send them to Texas. They send them to Florida. Every deplorable state that we can think about, they usually coming out of y’all’s think tank.”

Greene can be heard in the clip interjecting. “Point of order,” she said. “Point of order. I move to strike her words, ‘deplorable states.’

“That’s not a point of order,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) snapped. “Let the gentlelady proceed.”

Fill-in chair Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) consulted with aides and finally declared to Greene, “A ‘deplorable state’ is not a statement against a person, or it is not engaging in personalities,” Mediaite reported.

“So, I’ll continue and you reclaim your time,” McClain told Crockett.

    Crockett resumed her comments.

But Greene still attempted to get in the last word.

“Jasmine Crockett just did her best Hillary Clinton impersonation and insulted half of the country by calling red states, deplorable states,” Greene wrote on X. “She thinks if you disagree with her radical trans sexual agenda, you are deplorable.”

Clinton, of course, famously called many of Donald Trump’s supporters “a basket of deplorables” during their 2016 presidential race.

'Marjorie Taylor Greene just bribed Donald': Mary Trump warns of signals from wannabe V.P.

    David McAfee

Donald Trump is being bribed by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Vivek Ramaswamy right before our eyes, and the media is missing it, the former president's own niece, Mary Trump, said on Thursday.

Ramaswamy said at the Alabama GOP debate that the Jan. 6 insurrection attempt was an "inside job," implying that it could perhaps be a false flag operation. This ignores, of course, that Trump was still president at the time when the event occurred.

Nevertheless, Greene jumped right on board. She wrote on social media Thursday, "'Vivek is right. J6 was a Fedsurrection and undercover agents set people up with entrapment."

This isn't just two Republicans agreeing, according to Mary Trump, herself a psychologist.

"Why is this a big deal – don’t they tell outrageous lies all the time?" Mary Trump wrote. "Here's what everyone is missing: This isn't the usual pandering to a wide unhinged base. Instead, it seems to be a plea to an audience of one: Donald."

Mary Trump goes on to argue that "Greene and Ramaswamy are making Donald two promises in exchange for giving them the coveted VP spot."

ALSO READ: Nazis bullied a conservative Tennessee town. Locals punched back. Trump should be worried.

The first promise, she says, is that, "Greene and Ramaswamy both know they can’t be president, so they’re both making it clear to Donald that they will follow his lead even if—especially if—he rules as a dictator."

"This is a historic shift," she wrote. "In the old days (before 2023), vice presidents were often chosen to bring a key demographic to the ticket, even if the presidential nominee had no personal connection to, or respect for, the vice presidential pick."

The second one, she added is, "Donald knows he’ll need a pardon. Greene and Ramaswamy just gave the green light to that plan."

"I know for a fact that he’s scared out of his mind about being imprisoned. He is actively seeking loyalists NOW who have the power to give him a get-out-of-jail-free card," Mary Trump wrote Thursday.

How does it feel treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans to have your party leader get owned by Maxine Waters? As a Democrat I have always been a little embarrassed by her. So how does it feel to you for Waters to take down your party leader and potential VP?

And let's look at this. Mention forgiving student loans and MTG and other treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans scream Communism. But sucking a PPP loan off the government teet and having that forgiven ... well that's just business as usual.

Congresswoman Waters blasted Greene, her Republican colleague, for taking “the PPP money when she should have been seeing to her constituents getting it.”

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took to social media to blast California Rep. Maxine Waters after Waters criticized Greene for taking out a PPP loan during the pandemic.

Greene posted a message on X which read: “Maxine is everything wrong with politicians today. Too old. No real-life experience. Corrupt and tyrannical.”

Waters dismissed her Republican colleague’s gripes.

“I’m old enough to know how to deal with her,” maintained the longtime Democratic congresswoman. “I’m old enough to know that she took the PPP money when she should have been seeing to her constituents getting it. And so, I welcome the discussion.”

Ashlee Banks, theGrio’s Capitol Hill correspondent, explains in the above video.

Marjorie Taylor Greene buried for 'fearmongering' about terror attack that hasn't happened

    David McAfee
    December 9, 2023 7:16PM ET

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Saturday was accused of "fearmongering" by an ex-CIA official and others when she blamed Joe Biden for a hypothetical terrorist attack.

Greene, who was recently called a hypocrite for saying Biden was scared to debate without noting her chosen candidate Donald Trump has taken similar positions, used social media to push blame on the president for a purported terrorist attack she apparently expects to occur because of the shared Mexico border.

On her congressional account, Greene posted her assessment of who would be "entirely to blame" if there was a terrorist attack on American soil.

"If God forbid, there is a terrorist attack in America, the Biden Administration is entirely to blame [because] of the border!!!" Greene exclaimed.

She added without any evidence that, "With over 1.8 MILLION got aways in America, there ARE TERRORISTS HERE."

    Greene continued:

"We don’t know how many, who they are, or where they are. God help us."

While some individuals in the comments agreed with Greene, even suggesting it's not a matter of "if" but one of "when," others called her out for alleged fearmongering.

Gail Helt, a former CIA officer and political science professor at King University, mentioned Greene's purported ignorance.

"You don’t know that they’re here," Helt wrote. "Don’t let that stop you from fear mongering though."

One progressive account wrote, "Once all fails, revert back to fearmongering about immigration, isn't that right, Marjorie? What have or your party has done to help? Your current method of fear-mongering does a disservice to constructive political discourse and to the very constituents you claim to represent."

Another self-identified "leftist" wrote the following:

"Remember 2 weeks ago when you all frothed at the mouth because you thought there was a terrorist attack on the Canadian border? Yall are openly rooting for terrorism as long as it's politically expedient for you."

A left-leaning independent wrote, "OMG can you give us a break on a Saturday from your scare mongering and propaganda?"

But you knew with 100% certainty what happened under every other president!

I've already asked once, but where does it enumerate the responsibilities of the president, and where does it say immigration is number one of them all?

Raise the issue all you want, neither party really wants to fix the problem, as it is a good campaign football to kick around. It gets the base wanting red meat!

I think the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans may have done more damage to their phony corrupt "investigations" and "impeachment inquiry" in this one press conference than even exposing their lies. And that is because the majority of Americans don't follow politics very closely. They get most their news and form their opinions on 30 sound bites. So they might not quite know what to think about President Biden's impeachment. But just by common experience when they see people yelling and screaming and then running away they know they are lying.

Jim Jordan flees as Marjorie Greene launches into Hunter Biden sex trafficking rant: watch

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) interrupted Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday as they tried to make the case to reporters that President Joe Biden had improperly benefited from his son's overseas business dealings.

As Comer rehashed claims that there was something nefarious about Hunter Biden repaying his father for a loan that he'd made so that he could buy a truck, Greene started speaking over her Republican colleagues and leveling QAnon-style allegations against the president's son.

"I would like to have asked Hunter Biden about... sex trafficking women across state lines!" she said.

This prompted Jordan to immediately call for a close to the press scrum.

"Thank you very much," he said as he started to walk away.

'I was honored': Marjorie Taylor Greene gushes after photo op with QAnon Shaman

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) celebrated meeting Jacob Chansley, a convicted felon who participated in the Jan. 6 attacks and is better known as the QAnon Shaman.

On Monday, Greene shared a photo of her meeting with Chansley at Sunday's Turning Point Action conference.

"I was honored to meet Jake Chansley this weekend, and I want to explain why I say honored," Greene began, claiming the media "slandered him all over the world."

"The Biden regime's DOJ wrongfully prosecuted him for innocently and nonviolently walking through the Capital, and he was then treated horrifically in prisons even being held in solitary confinement for over 10 months just like many other J6'ers," she continued. "Yet when I spoke with Jake, he is remarkably positive, happy, forgiving, and determined."

ALSO READ: Mention ‘Liz Cheney 2024’ and things get very, very awkward on Capitol Hill

Greene said she was frustrated with Republicans who "refuse to do anything to help the J6'ers, while the federal government continues to tyrannically destroy their lives."

She painted Jan. 6 rioters as "nonviolent."

"Yet it's not really what J6'ers did that causes the DOJ to continue to persecute them, it's really about what they said on January 6th," Green opined. "It is cruel and unusual, actually shameful, the way this administration continues it's perversion of justice."

"Beyond the hat and the face paint is a person," she said of Chansley, "an American, who was wronged by the Democrat mouthpiece media, the Democrat administration, and stuck up weak Republican establishment, and I was honored to meet Jake because he seems to be a better person than all of them combined."

Chansley, however, did not receive praise from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who reportedly avoided the QAnon figure at the conference.

"Freaking coward!" Chansley yelled at Gaetz, according to reports.

MTG is a literal and actual traitor and so is anyone who does not condemn her for even saying this. Under our Constitution we are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. And we fought and won a civil war to remain the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

But we need to really look at and admit the amount of hate against the United States of America MTG is displaying here. MTG is at the very least calling for breaking up the United States of America and since under our Constitution states cannot secede advocating for civil war.

And why? Because her Chosen One Traitor Trump is being held accountable by the courts for his crimes while he was in office and after he left office. That's it. Throw away the Constitution, the rule of law including no one is above the law, our democracy, and our Union for just one man. The most mentally ill, stupid and ignorant, incompetent, corrupt, deadly, and treasonous man ever elected president.

Not since the Civil War has our country faced more danger. Not even in our many wars afterwards when the country came together to rise up and fight common enemies. No this threat is against the United States of America our Constitution and our democracy itself coming from a political party that have turned traitors and want an authoritarian dictator. Trump.

And its really easy to spot, in fact put a glaring spotlight on the traitors. They are the ones refusing come the defense of our country, our Constitution, our democracy, and the rule of law when we need it the most.

Marjorie Taylor Greene refloats 'national divorce' after Trump booted from Colorado ballot

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) doesn't want to live in a country where Donald Trump can't become president.

Greene took to social media on Wednesday and once again suggested that America needed a "national divorce" to separate red states from blue states, Newsweek first reported.

"America is in a constitutional crisis," she declared on her X account. "The admin is enabling a full scale border invasion and harboring illegal migrants. The courts are engaging in judicial tyranny. The government is politically weaponized against the people. Soon national divorce may be our only option."

This is not the first time that Greene has called for a "national divorce," which some critics have called a euphemism for a civil war.

All the same, Greene has insisted in the past that such a "divorce" could be done without mass violence.

ALSO READ: How Republicans paved the road to Texas with misogyny

"Why the left and right should consider a national divorce, not a civil war but a legal agreement to separate our ideological and political disagreements by states while maintaining our legal union," she wrote on Twitter this past February. "Tragically, I think we, the left and right, have reached irreconcilable differences."

Among the benefits of such a divorce, Greene argued, would be that red states would be able to bar Walmart from placing "sex toys next to children's toothbrushes."

Marjorie Taylor Greene mocked for throwing son under bus when asked about stock trades

Marjorie Taylor Greene reacted to accusations that she made “huge gains” on the stock market last year by blaming her son.

The Georgia Republican appeared in a report published Tuesday that named her among members of Congress who made the most money on the stock market.

The study, published by market analysis group Unusual Whales, said, "Many in Congress made unusually timed trades resulting in huge gains.”

It lists Greene at mid-table of about 100 featured representatives.

The study said she made 18.6 percent returns on her trades, higher than average but below that of some other members of Congress. Top of the list was Rep. Brian Higgins (D-NY), who made 238.9 percent of returns, the study said.

But, when confronted about the report on Fox News, Greene pushed the responsibility onto her son.

"I actually asked my team about that today — why my name was on the list — because I don't even own any stocks and I haven't in all of 2023," she told Fox host Jesse Watters.

ALSO READ: Revealed: Marjorie Taylor Greene's post-divorce finances — from Trump to Disney

"As a matter of fact, we have to report everything, including children who are dependents of ours. And I think what was reported was actually related to my son's account that his father and I set up for him years ago."

Greene has two sons. She didn't mention which one owned the account.

The claim drew mockery on social media, Newsweek reported.

"So she's feeding insider info to her son so he can have an illegal leg up when trading? Is that what she's saying?" wrote one user on X.

"Ahhh, using your son as a shell to buy and trade stocks," another wrote.

Well say, lets see this report from Unusual Whales, what say?

The entire report is many, many, pages long, far too long to copy N paste here, (my name is NOT stumbler) but interested members should pop over and take a look at who in Congress is making a killing in the market.
Nah, we don't need no stinking insider trading reform.
The Unusual Whales Congress Trading Report for 2023

    Hello. Again.

Another year gone by. Another divided Congress (118th this time). Another congressional class disclosing financial transactions with possible conflicts. However this time, Congress blew the market out of the water.

For those who don't know, Unusual Whales is a stock, options, market-moving news service that provides the most affordable financial tools and services to traders. We focus on market transparency most of all, highlighting unusual trades in the stock market.

One of those fields that are filled with unusual trading is Congressional trading. We are the reason Congress has started acting on Congressional trading and financial conflicts. Our reporting eventually changed Congress, with our 2021 report going viral. ONLY AFTER it went viral, 6 trading bills were banned the next week (ha!). Our journalism had a part in changing the world and public perception around politician stock trading.

Before we get started with the report, we launched a way for anyone to follow the portfolios of their Congress members while they trade. You can get access with any UW subscription. You can find it at our portfolios page. Follow the politicians’ money making money, easily.

If you have found any of our reports useful, and want to support our long form research outside our portfolio software above, please support our work and contribute to our research on political corruption, coming in 2024. Now, back to Congress.

If you are looking for the TLDR for Congressional trading in 2023, it is here, as is the report's navigation.

    Intro
A lot of crazy things happened in Congress last year. It’s been nearly one year since Kevin McCarthy failed to be elected Speaker of the House 14 times. It’s been six months since Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze on camera. It’s been a month since George Santos was expelled from Congress. It’s been six months since Senator Mendenez was caught for a SECOND TIME in a corruption scandal accepting gold bars, and he’s still in Congress. And it’s been two weeks since Nancy Pelosi began trading Nvidia options, AGAIN!!!! after divesting from semiconductors last year for possible conflict of interests.

During all of this, our elected officials have continued to buy and sell various financial assets. Our 2020 report got things started. Our 2021 Congressional Trading Report exposed how much and how often Congress was stock trading. It started a national discussion on whether politicians should be personally invested in individual companies while legislating. All from a little unusual whale. In the year that followed, hearings were conducted, bipartisan legislation was drafted, political leaders came out in support of a Congressional stock trading ban. But ultimately, nothing was done to reign in this behavior.

Our 2022 Congressional Trading Report caught the eye of individual Members of Congress. Many were upset with being singled out by their estimated returns. Some shared their financial statements with us to be fully transparent and set the record straight. We even collaborated with House Democrat Ro Khanna to discuss how feasible a Congressional stock trading ban would be and what it could look like.

I’m giving you this re-cap because it’s all thanks to YOU. Your continued interest and outrage on this topic has shown our politicians that we are paying attention. By reading these reports, talking about our findings and sharing it with friends, you make Congress very uncomfortable.

Now as usual, when we did into one of american haters hit pieces, we always find more to the story, eh?
First, there are more despicables on this list than deplorables, and Green is not "mid table", rather she's down almost at the bottom near the "spy" marker, which is to say, not near the middle.
And she's below notables like Pelosi (65.6%) and Ron Wyden (78.5%) and the leader of the pack, Brian Higgins (239%).
So, hit piece (duh) but say, thanks american hater for telling us about this report. Fascinating.

*Shooter looks for news of Pelosi
"On Dec 22nd Nancy Pelosi and her husband traded Nvidia, NVDA, calls. Her Nvidia calls show that Nancy Pelosi once again believes politicians should be able to trade (and in size).

Let’s start in December 2021. After a history of unusual trading, Nancy Pelosi was asked if she thinks US Congress members should trade despite legislative conflicts by Bryan Metzger. She said, "We are a free market economy. Congress should be able to participate in that". Insane.

In Jan 2022 Unusual Whales releases their most famous trading report, showing Congress beat the market. Nancy Pelosi is listed as the fifth best trader in Congress. That report creates a flurry of media and outrage, while the report continues to go viral. Within seven days of publishing, five new bills banning members of Congress from trading are proposed.

In the summer of 2022, it is revealed that Nancy Pelosi was trading millions of dollars of NVDA, Nvidia, before voting on a US semiconductor bill by the Biden administration. We reported on the trade to once again, outrage by the public when disclosed. Interestingly, for the first time in history, a few days later Nancy Pelosi disclosed trades made on the same day they were made (likely the fastest disclosure in history of US Congress). She reported that she sold out of her Nvidia position, the first time she divested from conflicts in her portfolio.

One month later Nancy Pelosi proposes alongside Representative Lofgren her own Congressional trading ban, a bill which was incredibly weak and filled with loopholes. And then, Pelosi stopped trading. Well, until Dec 22nd.

One week after Chinese President Xi visits her home state of California, and before Biden announces new US semiconductor focuses, her husband decides to buy two million dollars of deep in-the-money Nvidia calls, the same company she divested from due to conflicts a year earlier. What’s worse On Dec 11th, before she bought in November, U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo said that Nvidia could sell slower AI chips to China to comply with US export controls. And then, on Dec 28th, NVDA launched a modified version of an advanced chip precisely to get around US restrictions. Pelosi has always been quite good at trading before news but to come back to a company she divested from due to conflicts before excellent news is quite stunning.

Why does she trade ITM tech calls? It allows for one to be bullish with less capital upfront, and the contracts move 1 delta to the stock. We wrote more about it here: unusualwhales.com/news/the-pelosi-portfolio

One unusual thing about this trade is that it was done when Congress was in session!!!!!! You can use Unusual Whales to find the exact price she paid for her options and leveraged bets. She paid $1,888,050 total for her calls, done 20 minutes before close."
Note to american hater; Tuberville is right below Pelosi in the report.
    We'll wait.

Shooter made 3% on his investments in 2023.
The average return for Congress was 31% for despicables, 18% for deplorables.

Oh, and that report about Green "throwing her son under the bus"?
She verified that in fact the stock trades at issue were made by her son on accounts set up for him (and for each of his siblings) years ago.
Course, pundits couldn't wait to ask if his trades were done based on insider information fed to him by Green, which is, as they say, pretty fucking funny considering that Pelosi's hubby Paul has been doing amazingly well in the market ever since Nancy got into Congress.
    No matter.
    We know they're all crook.
And that american hater misses no chance to demonize all things conservative while defending to the death the liberal right to fuck us over.

FEC fines Marjorie Taylor Greene $12,000 for illegal PAC fundraising
by Tara Suter - 01/06/24 11:15 AM ET

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) fined Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene $12,000 (R-Ga.) for alleged illegal PAC fundraising, according to a recently-published conciliation agreement.

The FEC said Greene violated Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (FECA), for “soliciting non-federal” funds by reposting an advertisement she appeared in on her official Greene for Congress social media accounts. The advertisement was for political action committee (PAC) “Stop Socialism Now PAC.”

The PAC posted the advertisement on its website, YouTube and social media feeds in December 2020. The video featured Greene speaking about the 2021 Senate runoff elections in her home state, which eventually resulted in the election of Democratic Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to their current seats, according to the conciliation agreement.

In the video, Greene attempted to raise money for the PAC’s efforts to keep Ossoff and Warnock from winning the seats.

“Stop Socialism Now PAC will stop Ossoff and Warnock from stealing our Senate seats,” Greene said in the ad, according to the agreement. “It’s time to fight back now, before it’s too late.

FECA prohibits “federal candidates and officeholders, their agents, and entities directly or indirectly established, financed, maintained or controlled by or acting on behalf of federal candidates and officeholders, from soliciting funds in connection with a federal election ‘unless the funds are subject to the limitations, prohibitions, and reporting requirements of the Act.'”

The FEC alleged that by reposting the advertisement in which she requests contributions through on-screen text, her plea to “make a contribution today” in the video and via a web address for the donation webpage, she solicited non-federal funds.

The FEC accepted the agreement in early December, and Greene had 30 days after it became “effective” to comply with it.

Since she was first elected in 2020, Greene has become a well-known and controversial figure in American politics. Earlier this week, a Florida resort canceled an event with her that would’ve occurred on the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

“Please be advised that Westgate was not made aware of the purpose of this event when we were approached to host a book signing,” the resort said in an emailed statement. “This event has been cancelled and is no longer taking place at our resort.”

Pelosi Calls Hillary Clinton 'President' and Trips All Over Election Denialism – RedState

Pelosi Calls Hillary Clinton 'President' and Trips All Over Election Denialism
By Nick Arama | 10:34 AM on April 04, 2023
The opinions expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of RedState.com.

I think I may have said it before. I’m so glad that the Republicans won the House and one of the big reasons why is that I no longer have to refer to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as “House Speaker.” She’s no longer front and center making ridiculous comments about policy. “For the children.” It’s always “for the children.” Even if it’s never for the children and only about the Democrats’ power.

But I do want to call out the Pelosi hypocrisy that she was laying down when she was at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with Hillary Clinton. Clinton is supposed to “teach” at the school in the fall “using her own political experience as course material.”

The course, titled “Inside the Situation Room,” according to a press release, will be co-taught by Clinton and Dean Keren Yarhi-Milo. It will analyze “a range of case studies and examine decision-making in a variety of historical and contemporary contexts, from the search for Osama bin Laden, to the ‘red line’ in Syria, to negotiating with Iran.”

Translation: the other person will carry the course while Hillary will occasionally show up for a hefty paycheck and sling bull, just like what happened with Joe Biden and the University of Pennsylvania. Plus what experience is she going to teach? How to lose and smear your political opponent with Russian disinformation?

Clinton asked Pelosi about the threats to democracy. “Well, I appreciate that question, but I also appreciate your leadership in this regard when president –” Pelosi responded, mistakenly referring to Clinton as president — a title she’s never going to have, something that still causes Clinton and Democrats fits.

“But when Secretary Clinton was in the Senate and first lady, but especially as secretary of State in more recent time – she has been and at that time implemented many things showing America’s support for democracy,” Pelosi said. Then she went over into election denialism and pushed that somehow Russian interference affected the election, “It was her clarity and position to the present – Putin – present occupant leader of Russia, that made him turn around and ensure, in an illegal way, come out against her in her campaign and interference in our democracy by Vladimir Putin because Hillary Clinton was the person he feared most in terms of his lack of democracy in Russia. That’s, I think, self-evident, so thank you for what you have done.”

So it’s ok to be an election denier and spread nonsense if you have the magical “D” after your name, and you’re doing it in the name of “democracy”? Did she miss the part where nothing the Russians did affected the vote? That’s hilarious that she thinks anyone fears Hillary. Did she miss that it was Hillary’s campaign interfering in the election and trying to smear her opponent with Russian disinformation through the Steele dossier? Clinton even got fined for it by the FEC, for falsely characterizing the expense. Democrats get a fine and a job at Columbia, they don’t get indicted in our new system. But even with smearing her opponent, Hillary still couldn’t win.

Pelosi continued, in ignorance. This was her take on China — we have to talk to them because of climate change.
Facepalm. China is running rings around the somnambulant Biden administration, advancing its goals to become the dominant power in the world, while the Biden team and the Democrats are hyped up over climate change and pronouns. The Biden administration doesn’t even seem to understand what’s happening with the alliances and deals China has been making.

Pelosi appeared to criticize the internet being “unfiltered.”

Yes, because the Democrats would like to control what you see and hear, and thus, hope to control what you think.

This next one is perhaps the funniest of her takes. Pelosi’s take on Republicans is bizarre. If you don’t go along with her, she (and Clinton) don’t understand it, you are on the “other side of democracy.” So much for the concept of the “loyal opposition.” You must comply!

“Why? Because they don’t wanna pay more taxes? Because they’re believing some misrepresentation of what’s going on? We have to be vigilant in this country.”

Imagine saying that while also spreading misinformation about 2016 and sitting next to the person whose campaign paid to spread misinformation to hurt her country, who so helped to divide the country? Yes, Nancy, that’s why we “nice educated people” are on the other side from whatever side you two are on.

Marjorie Taylor Greene ridiculed for holding Jan. 6 book signing in kids' section

After a Kissimmee, Florida venue canceled a book signing by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) organized by the Osceola County Republican Party, the controversial George lawmaker vowed "the show would go on" on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

And indeed it did, much to the amusement of critics of the lawmaker who is out pushing her book with personal appearances.

On Saturday, as the country observed the anniversary of the Jan. 6 riot, Taylor Greene's book signing, originally slated for the Westgate Resorts in Kissimmee, took place at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in St. Cloud, Florida.

To prove that she would not be deterred, Saturday afternoon Taylor Greene posted a photo on X of her signing a book while seated next to large stacks of them and boasting, "The Commies in Florida tried to cancel my book signings. They failed! It’s great to be here! @WinningTeamPub. Get the book the Democrats fear the most."

Democrats seemed less fearful and more amused by the accompanying picture where the Georgia lawmaker can be seen stationed in a children's section flanked by large building blocks and a partially obscured variation of a Barbie DreamHouse.

Then the mockery began with one commenter immediately pointing out, "Looks like they put you in the preschool section."

"Not the daycare hosting you," another added with one other X user, pointing out, "She had to resort to a VFW in St Cloud."

Another quipped, "A daycare classroom the is best you could get?"

"And for the more discerning readers in the UK. On Amazon it is currently ranked at 253,176 in Books," one helpful critic added.

"You’re at a daycare? Lol how classy," was another comment followed by another critic pointing out that the Georgia lawmaker avoided mentioning where she was holding the signing in her post.

"Strange how you've yet to give the location of this book signing. Why does it look like it's in a kindergarten classroom," they wrote.

Pointing to the picture, another observed no book buyers were in view and pointed out, "All I see is you signing unsold books."
